The Lyakhov model for multicomponent media, whose rigorous mathematica
l justification is obtained using an asymptotic averaging technique is
considered. It is shown that the nature of long-wave action differs a
t different scale levels. At the microlevel the behavior of the medium
obeys thermodynamic laws, while at the macrolevel it manifests itself
as wave motion for average characteristics.
