Lk. Gusachenko et Ve. Zarko, THE MARANGONI EFFECT IN COMBUSTION OF ENERGETIC MATERIALS WITH A LIQUID SURFACE-LAYER, Combustion, explosion, and shock waves, 32(2), 1996, pp. 239-240
A is shown that under the action of a surface-tension gradient the wel
l-known mechanism of bubble motion can ensure the effective removal of
gaseous products from the reaction zone in. the condensed phase of me
lting energetic materials with a very high temperature gradient. Takin
g this effect into account, one can reliably explain. the appearance o
f a foam on the surface of some energetic materials after sudden switc
hing-off of the combustion-supporting external radiation. source.
