Hm. Wen, DEFORMATION AND PERFORATION OF CLAMPED WORK-HARDENING PLATES STRUCK TRANSVERSELY BY BLUNT MISSILES, Nuclear Engineering and Design, 160(1-2), 1996, pp. 51-58
A simple theory is given in this paper for the behaviour of clamped ci
rcular work-hardening plates struck transversely by flat-ended project
iles which travel at low velocities. By closely following the previous
studies, force-displacement relationships are obtained and used to pr
edict the deformation and perforation of the plates. It is shown that
the theoretical predictions agree well with the experimental results o
n fully clamped steel plates when strain rate effects are taken into a
ccount.
