Abstract
A simple theory is given in this paper for the behaviour of clamped ci rcular work-hardening plates struck transversely by flat-ended project iles which travel at low velocities. By closely following the previous studies, force-displacement relationships are obtained and used to pr edict the deformation and perforation of the plates. It is shown that the theoretical predictions agree well with the experimental results o n fully clamped steel plates when strain rate effects are taken into a ccount.
