A pipe of the purification system made of an austenitic material X 6 C
rNiNb 18 10 S and installed within the containment has been taken as a
n example of how the requirements of the regulations are fulfilled by
the material, the design and the calculations, and which measures are
used for implementation. The considerable safety margin in components
in which the requirements of the regulations have been consistently im
plemented have been quantified for the piping system featured here by
means of ductile fracture mechanics calculation procedures.
