Abstract
79 myocardial infarction (MI) patients exhibited enhanced activity of myeloperoxidase and high levels of cation protein in leukocytes. These indices rose to maximal and recovered on the disease days 5-7 and 30- 40, respectively. Intracellular components of leukocytes in acute MI p atients changed in accordance with the stage and severity of the patho logical process. This provides additional information on MI prognosis and aftercare efficiency.
