Abstract
Two species of stoneflies, Leuctra duplicata Classen and Leuctra maria Hanson, were recovered from a population of the American pitcher plan t (Sarracenia purpurea L.) collected from Big Run Bog, Tucker County, West Virginia. Eight specimens-5 adults, 2 nymphs and 1 exuvium-were r ecovered from 99 leaves collected in May, 1994. This is the first repo rt of Plecoptera in pitcher plants. This is also the first report of L euctra maria in West Virginia; previous studies indicated it to have a more northern distribution.
