IDE PULPING - THE IMPREGNATION STAGE

This paper deals with the impregnation stage of the lDE pulping proces s. The influence of the following factors on the impregnation results were studied: a) chip thickness, b) time, c) alkali concentration, and d) temperature. Over the parameter range used, chip thickness had no significant effect on the impregnation results, and the difference in impregnation results between three and four hours' impregnation time w as relatively small under the conditions used.
