Mer. Mchale et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALCOHOL PLUS 2-PROPOXYETHANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES, Journal of chemical and engineering data, 41(2), 1996, pp. 272-274
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in sev
en binary mixtures containing 2-propoxyethanol with l-propanol, 2-prop
anol, l-butanol, 2-butanol, l-pentanol, l-octanol, and 3-methyl-1-buta
nol at 25 degrees C. Results of these measurements are used to test tw
o mathematical representations based upon the combined nearly ideal bi
nary solvent (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister equation and modified Wilson model.
For the seven systems studied, both equations were found to provide a
n accurate mathematical representation of the experimental data, with
an overall average absolute deviation between measured and calculated
values being on the order of 0.5%.
