Volumetric properties of binary mixtures of carbon dioxide and sulfur
hexafluoride have been determined using a specially designed high-pres
sure variable-volume view cell. The data are reported for mixtures con
taining 0, 9, 20.2, 31, 35.6, 50, and 100% by mass sulfur hexafluoride
over a temperature range from 296 to 430 K at pressures up to 70 MPa.
At these conditions, depending upon the mixture composition, densitie
s are observed to vary in the range from 0.7 to 1.6 g/cm(3).
