Infrared spectra of O-16(3) have been recorded in the 4250 cm(-1) regi
on with a Fourier transform spectrometer, at 0.008 cm(-1) resolution,
using a White-type cell l = 36.16 m filled with 42.8 Torr O-3. This sp
ectral region corresponds to the 3v(1) + v(3) band, which has never be
en observed before. The assignment of this band has been performed up
to J = 43 and K-a = 13. To correctly reproduce the obtained energy lev
els of (301), it has been necessary to introduce the (230) dark state,
interacting with (301) through Coriolis resonance. With the Hamiltoni
an for these two vibrational states, the fit on the 282 energy levels
results in the RMS = 1.8 x 10(-3) cm(-1), on the order of the experime
ntal precision. Line intensities of the 3v(1) + v(3) are measured and
calculated. We report here the set of molecular parameters and transit
ion moment constants. A complete list of lire positions and intensitie
s with the cutoff of 1 x 10(-26) cm(-1)/molecule . cm(-2) at 295 K up
to J = 55 and K-a = 17 has been generated, covering the region 4170-42
65 cm(-1). (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
