Rl. Holtz et al., OVERVIEW OF NANOPHASE METALS AND ALLOYS FOR GAS SENSORS, GETTERS, ANDHYDROGEN STORAGE, Nanostructured materials, 7(1-2), 1996, pp. 259-264
Nanophase metallic materials produced by inert gas condensation and ba
ll-milling, including zirconium and magnesium alloys, have been the su
bject of several exploratory studies on potential gas-reactive applica
tions of nanophase metals. Such applications include gas sensing, vacu
um gettering, and hydrogen storage. A brief overview is given of the b
ackground, rationale, and some results from the literature of gas-reac
tive applications of nanophase metals and alloys.
