Abstract
A statistical analysis of accidental rupture of pipelines and an evalu ation of the possibility of obtaining a given value for certain hazard ous parameters is presented. The analysis uses the database of acciden ts which occurred during the period 1980-1990 for the Middle Asia-Cent re pipeline. The analysis takes into account those parameters which de termine the energy potential of the accident and approximate formulas linking energy potential to the quantification of the resulting hazard s are derived.
