Abstract
A heuristic approach to design quantizers for signal detection is pres ented. Quantizer parameters are obtained that minimize a tight upper h ound on the probability of error, This approach is applied to the desi gn of distributed detection systems, Numerical examples are presented to illustrate its near-optimum performance.
