Abstract
Feeding tests with loggerhead shrikes (Lanius ludovicianus) showed thi s bird to accept Utetheisa ornatrix, a moth (Arctiidae) protected by p yrrolizidine alkaloids, but to avoid Lytta polita, a beetle (Meloidae) containing cantharidin.
