Abstract
A simple method is proposed to calculate the correlation time of many- particle systems with binary collisions. It is based on the time evolu tion of kinetic energy and applies to arbitrary (quasi-)static interac tion. The calculated nonequilibrium correlation time increases nearly linearly with the range of the interaction, similarly as in equilibriu m.
