Abstract
A new form of polyheptatellurium dication, {[Te-7][ASF(6)](2)}(infinit y), has been synthesized at room temperature and structurally characte rized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography. The new infinite polyme ric chain consists of six-membered rings bridged through a tellurium a tom; Its structure is discussed and compared to those of other telluri um cation systems, including another polyheptatellurium dication, {[Te -7][WOBr5](2)}(infinity), and the previously reported ''{[Te-6][AsF6]( 2)''.
