OUTCOME MEASURES IN THE MOTOR REHABILITAT ION OF HEMIPARETIC PATIENTS

Evaluation of impairment and disability is described for hemiparetic p atients and the most common evaluation instruments for motor functions , which are used internationally, are summarized. These motor assessme nt scales are necessary in order to document outcome and to improve th erapeutic approaches in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity and of gait. This quantification is especially important since there exist several schools of physiotherapy with different concepts.
