Abstract
The authors have measured gain spectra in an optically pumped Zn0.72Cd 0.28Se-ZnSe multiple quantum well sample. The gain was calculated incl uding many-body affects such as spectral broadening and Coulomb enhanc ement. Excellent agreement between model and experiment is found, alth ough the high carrier temperature above threshold reduces the expected Coulomb enhancement of the gain in II-VI quantum well lasers.
