Abstract
The recent development of various types of ion sources and their appli cation in China is reviewed. Emphasis is given to new improvements of the electron cyclotron resonance ion source; MEVVA ion source, electro n beam evaporation metal ion source, compact multicusp ion source, as well as compact negative ion sources with permanent magnets.
