Congenital posterior urethral polyps are an uncommon but well-describe
d disease process known to cause hematuria or bladder outlet obstructi
on in boys. Conventional treatment has included transurethral resectio
n or open cystotomy for complete removal of the polyp. We report the f
irst use of the neodymium:yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser for endoscopic
excision of a posterior urethral polyp in a 3-year-old boy.
