Wc. Chew et al., NONLINEAR DIFFRACTION TOMOGRAPHY - THE USE OF INVERSE SCATTERING FOR IMAGING, International journal of imaging systems and technology, 7(1), 1996, pp. 16-24
Our recent inverse scattering work has been to derive inverse scatteri
ng theory and algorithms that can be used to process practical experim
ental data. The theory makes use of computation of the forward scatter
ing solution. Therefore, an efficient forward solver is instrumental t
o the rapid solution of the inverse scattering problem. The advantage
of the more sophisticated theory over a linear theory is that it accou
nts for multiple scattering effects within the scatterers which often
give rise to distortions in an image. A new method to invert strong sc
atterers, such as metallic scatterers, is presented. (C) 1996 John Wil
