Aa. Kruchinin et Yg. Vlasov, SURFACE-PLASMON RESONANCE MONITORING BY MEANS OF POLARIZATION STATE MEASUREMENT IN REFLECTED LIGHT AS THE BASIS OF A DNA-PROBE BIOSENSOR, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 30(1), 1996, pp. 77-80
An approach to the read-out problem of the shift of surface plasmon re
sonance (SPR) dip and an experimental arrangement for its realization
are considered. The principle of the proposed registration method is b
ased on the measurement of the ratio of the p- and s-polarized compone
nts in reflected light, giving a sensitivity enhancement of up to two
orders of magnitude. The described set-up can be employed to monitor b
iospecific interactions, producing refractive-index changes near the d
etection limit of the SPR technique using only p-polarized light.
