Abstract
Electron-beam vapor deposition technique is employed to prepare Fe/Cr nano-multilayers with various thicknesses and periodicities. It is fou nd that the magnetic moment per Fe atom in Fe/Cr multilayers becomes w eaker with decreasing Fe layer thickness, when the Cr layer thickness is kept at 9 nm. The possible mechanism of the magnetic moment weakeni ng is discussed in terms of the spin orientational configuration of th e Fe atoms at Fe/Cr interfaces.
