The initial susceptibility, magnetic after-effect, and magnetic satura
tion polarization in the temperature range from 290 to 700 K and the m
icrostructure for the Fe73.5CU1Nb3Si13.5B9 alloy with a different volu
me fractions of the crystalline phase are investigated. It is stated t
hat after accumulative annealing only the short-range order occurs in
the crystalline alpha-FeSi phase. The initial susceptibility increases
and disaccommodation decreases with annealing time for the sample ann
ealed at 743 K; these are attributed to the annealing-out of free volu
mes. The amorphous matrix is the main source of the magnetic after-eff
ect in all investigated samples.
