Abstract
This article describes the recent applications of electron-probe X-ray microanalysis (EPXMA), laser microprobe mass spectrometry (LMMS), inc luding on-line LMMS, and microparticle-induced X-ray emission (mu-PIXE ) in environmental single particle analysis. The microbeam techniques which are in development and potentially interesting for environmental analysis are briefly discussed.
