B. Conde, DIPLURA CAMPODEIDAE FROM THE PESTERA DE L A MOVILE (MOVILE CAVE), SOUTHERN DOBROGEA (ROMANIA), Revue Suisse de Zoologie, 103(1), 1996, pp. 101-114
The Pestera de la Movile is caracterized by its thermomineral waters c
ontaining H2S. Most of the terrestrial species discovered are troglobi
tic and new for science, a probable consequence of a long isolation. T
hree species of Campodeidae are recorded from this cave. While Plusioc
ampa isterina Conde ressembles endogean species, two new species (Plus
iocampa euxina n. sp. and Campodea neuherzi n. sp.) present clearly tr
oglomorphic adaptations. They are related respectively to Plusiocampa
evallonychia Silvestri and Campodea taurica Silvestri known from a cav
e in the vicinity of Mount Taurus, Peninsula of Crimea, just facing th
e southern Dobrogea across the Black Sea (Euxinus-Pontus).
