The transport mechanism of vortices in a new class of photofluxonic de
tectors based on Josephson Junction (JJ) arrays is examined in detail.
Spatial resolution is easily achievable only if the vortex/antivortex
moves at constant velocity. Our simulations show that this is the cas
e of JJ ladders. In 2D JJ arrays the situation is less simple: x-y res
olution seems possible only in a small range of the bias current value
s, beyond an upper critical value the detector becomes unstable.
