P. Jungell et M. Malmstrom, CYCLOSPORINE-A MOUTHWASH IN THE TREATMENT OF ORAL LICHEN-PLANUS, International journal of oral and maxillofacial surgery, 25(1), 1996, pp. 60-62
Seven patients with long-standing atrophic/erosive oral lichen planus
were treated for 4 weeks with cyclosporin A as a mouthwash. At the end
of the 3-month follow-up period, no improvement in disease status was
noted in any of the patients, although two patients showed a slight i
mprovement of their lesions at the end of 1 month of treatment. Cyclos
porin A as a mouthwash does not seem to be an effective means of treat
ing severe oral lichen planus.
