Abstract
Effects of caustic concentration, alumina to caustic ratio of aluminat e liquor, quantity of seed charge and precipitation temperature on the yield of alumina hydrate has been studied under laboratory condition. Kinetic equations have been derived for the calculation of equilibriu m alumina to caustic ratio under optimum conditions and correlating ra te of hydrate precipitation with the initial caustic content. Effect o f different precipitation parameters on the strength of alumina hydrat e has also been discussed.
