Abstract
Histological and ultrastructural studies have been undertaken in order to identify the particularities and, if possible, some mechanisms inv olved in regeneration from protoplasts in the eggplant Solanum melonge na. The most important result consists of a peculiar and concomitant a ssociation of meristematic and differentiated features only in cells f rom which regenerative processes originate.
