ARE THERE REALLY BLUE STRAGGLERS IN PER OB1

The spatial distribution of O-type stars projected onto the Per OB 1 a ssociation has been investigated. From the limited data available we f ind evidence to suggest that there are several distinct clusters of ea rly type stars. in the association's line of sight. It is found that a ll those stars identified in the past as being blue stragglers are lik ely situated in the most distant cluster and consequently they are unl ikely to be coevally related to the closer stellar groups. Our argumen t is that all those stars previously classified as blue stragglers in Per OB1 are 'normal' O and OBN stars.
