USE OF LINES WITH INTERVARIETAL SUBSTITUT IONS OF CHROMOSOMES FOR STUDYING ALLELISM AT VRN1 LOCUS IN COMMON WHEAT

Ear emergence time was studied in 11 lines with intervarietal substitu tion for chromosome 5A from contrast donor cultivars possessing the do minant gene Vrn1, as well as in F-1 hybrids after crossing the lines i nter se and with the recipient cultivar. Differences in ear emergence time were nonsignificant, suggesting that allelism at the Vrn1 gene mi ght be absent in common wheat.
