The genetic variability of helminths belonging to the three classes Ce
stoda, Nematoda and Trematoda was analysed by means of polymerase chai
n reaction with randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD-PCR), Dendrog
rams of genetic relationships between some representatives of the genu
s Trichinella, Fasciola hepatica, Cysticerus ovis, Echinococcus granul
osus, and Nematodirus spathiger were constructed on the basis of DNA a
mplification patterns. The formation of ecological and genetic adaptat
ions in the helminth groups studied is discussed.
