It was established that orientational drawing of PVC films leads to re
distribution of peak intensities in the fluorescence spectra of oxazin
e-17 introduced into the films and the appearance of polarization effe
cts in the absorption spectra. The dependence of fluorescence of oxazi
ne-17 on the mechanical deformation of PVC films is caused by the vari
ation of the degree of ordered aggregation of luminophor molecules dur
ing the elongation of polymer matrix. This phenomenon can be used to a
ssess the stability of polymer structure with respect to mechanical ac
tion.
