An extended version of the pseudo-SU(3) model is used to describe low-
energy positive-parity states of three rare-earth nuclei in a full pro
ton-neutron formalism. Along with other residual interactions, the Ham
iltonian includes the pairing which induces mixing between different r
epresentations of SU(3). Excitation energies, B(E2) values, B(M1) valu
es, quadrupole moments, and g(R) factors of Xe-136, Ba-138, and Hg-204
are calculated in a truncation free environment and the results are c
ompared with the experimental data and other theories.
