ACCURATE ANISOTROPIC WATER-DIFFUSION MEASUREMENTS IN LIQUID-CRYSTALS

Procedures and design leading to accurate anisotropic diffusion coeffi cients of water in lyotropic liquid crystals are described. It is show n that, by using simple controls on the important intrinsic and enviro nmental variables, one can achieve subpercent accuracy of the measured diffusion coefficients, The accuracy is tested by comparing results f rom different diffusion experiments.
