A. Yoshida et al., ASSESSMENT OF CEREBRAL FAT-EMBOLISM BY MAGNETIC-RESONANCE-IMAGING IN THE ACUTE STAGE, The journal of trauma, injury, infection, and critical care, 40(3), 1996, pp. 437-440
The authors assessed the characteristic appearance of magnetic resonan
ce imaging (MRI) of cerebral fat embolism in three patients, The MRI f
eatures in the acute stage were characterized by widespread, spotty le
sions in the white matter, which appeared hyperintense on T2-weighted
images and iso- or hypointense on T1-weighted images. The relation bet
ween clinical features and MRT findings are discussed.
