Abstract
An efficient method for the synthesis of monosubstituted guanidines ha s been developed through the regiospecific nucleophilic opening of an epoxide by free guanidine followed by in situ selective N,N'-bis-benzy loxycarbonyl protection of the guanidine moiety.
