Abstract
The interfering effects of different species on the atomic absorption signal of lead and cadmium were investigated. These effects were compl etely eliminated by adding cyanide to both sample and standard solutio ns. The role of cyanide action was studied by using organic and inorga nic compounds containing cyanide. The interference elimination mechani sm via the formation of analyte-cyano complexes is discussed.
