Abstract
We report on the observation of an electric-field-induced electric-dip ole moment of biexcitonic molecules in a GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As superlattic e. The macroscopic oscillating electric field, associated with the mic roscopic wave packet dipole moments, is monitored by time-resolved tra nsmittive electro-optic sampling. The field dependence of the biexcito nic binding energy is detected by transient four-wave mixing. From the se experiments, an ultrafast non-resonant excitation mechanism of biex citons is inferred.
