Abstract
The present paper deals with the study of the application of the gas p hase condensation method to the synthesis of nanostructured tin oxides (SnO and SnO2). The method consists of the evaporation of a precursor compound (Sn, SnO, SnO2) in an inert gas atmosphere (He) to collect a n ultrafine powder. The analysis of the obtained materials by XRD (X-r ay diffraction), TEM (transmission electron microscopy) and XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) allows us to determine the experimental c onditions that produce the best nanostructured ultrafine powders.
