P. Camagni et al., PHOTOSENSITIVITY ACTIVATION OF SNO2 THIN-FILM GAS SENSORS AT ROOM-TEMPERATURE, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 31(1-2), 1996, pp. 99-103
In this work the results of photoconductivity measurements on SnO2 thi
n films gas sensors grown by the rheotaxial growth and thermal oxidati
on (RGTO) technique are presented. It is shown that thin films, illumi
nated with UV light at room temperature, become sensitive to oxygen an
d reducing gases like CO. On the contrary the response to CO is not af
fected by illumination when the sensor is kept at the usual working te
mperature (T = 673 K).
