The author report twenty one cases of tissue reconstruction defects se
condary to necrotizing cellulitis of perineum and external genital org
ans, treated at the burns and plastic surgery unit of UHC Ibn Rochd of
Casablanca, between 1992 and 1994. Depending on the extent of the def
ect, the techniques used were gracilis musculocutaneous flap in 8 case
s, thigh fasciocutaneous flap in 7 cases, groin flap in 4 cases, simpl
e skin sutures and skin grafts in one case, respectively. The morpholo
gical results were satisfactory. The mean hospital stay after reconstr
uction was 15 days.
