Dielectronic recombination (DR) cross sections and rate coefficients a
re calculated for B-like Ar13+ and Fe21+ with 1s, 2s and 2p shell exci
tations (Delta n not equal 0) and for Al8+ and Kr31+ With 2p-shell exc
itation. The calculations are carried out in the isolated resonance ap
proximation using the angular momentum average scheme. The DR rate coe
fficients of Ar13+ are found to be in good agreement with those predic
ted using a new empirical formula [4]. The DR rate coefficients for B-
like ions with Delta n not equal 0 excitations peak around the nuclear
core charge Z(c)=26, which is drastically different from those with i
ntra-shell (Delta n=0) excitations [6]. The peak for the latter case o
ccurs at Z(c) similar to 10-12.
