Abstract
Brillouin scattering studies were performed on ZnSe-ZnSe1-xSx strained -layer superlattices with the composition x similar to 0.2. We have ob served scattering from longitudinal guided modes (LGM) whose velocitie s are determined primarily by the C-11 elastic constant. From the meas ured velocity of the first-order LGM of the quasitransverse acoustic m ode and of the quasilongitudinal acoustic mode, the C-11 and C-44 elas tic constants in ZnSe-ZnSe1-xSx superlattice film have been observed.
