Abstract
For many environmental scientists, solid-phase extraction (SPE) does n ot appear as straightforward as liquid-liquid extraction because of th e sorbent choices and because recoveries depend on sample volume. Mari e-Claire Hennion and Valerie Pichon discuss how to determine various S PE parameters from liquid chromatography data, how to make sorbent cho ices, and the limits and advantages of several sorbents.
