Abstract
Ascorbic acid content decreased with age in livers of male rats but no t in those of female rats. The influence of aging on the regeneration of ascorbic acid from dehydroascorbic acid was investigated as a possi ble cause of declining ascorbate concentrations. The results demonstra te that hepatic NADPH-dehydroascorbic acid reductase activity is unaff ected by aging.
