D. Morgan et al., AN OUTBREAK OF CAMPYLOBACTER INFECTION ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONSUMPTION OF UNPASTEURIZED MILK AT A LARGE FESTIVAL IN ENGLAND, European journal of epidemiology, 10(5), 1994, pp. 581-585
Seventy-two laboratory confirmed cases of Campylobacter infection were
identified in people who attended a large festival in England. A case
-control study was undertaken to identify the vehicle of infection. Po
tential risk factors included the water supply to the site, and food,
bottled spring water and unpasteurised milk sold at the event. Only th
e consumption of unpasteurised milk showed a statistical association w
ith having a Campylobacter infection, strongly suggesting that this wa
s the vehicle of infection.
