A deodorant of methyl mercaptan was isolated from hydrangea (Hydrangea
macrophylla Seringe var. otaksa Makino) and determined to be 2,6-dime
thoxy 1,4-benzaquinone by HR-EI-MS, and C-13- and H-1-MMR.
