The isotherm of the electrical resistivity, rho, shows two trends: in
the dilute alkali range, rho changes moderately with an upward convex
curvature, and in the concentrated alkali range, rho has a maximum at
60 at.% alkali. The latter trend is observed for liquid Hg-Rb alloys w
ith large volume contractions and enhancements of chi(M) immersed in t
he negative deviations as a whole ('W shape'). The former trend accomp
anies anomalous behavior of d rho/dT (Na-Hg) and (dV(M)/dT)/V-M and d
chi(M)/dT (Rb-Hg). The crossover of these trends may indicate changes
in the liquid structure with charge transfer.
